ASI launches exclusive one-on-one forum
(5/12/2008)
Trevose, PA-based Advertising Specialty Institute
(ASI) is launching the ASI Business Forum, an exclusive event for
advertising specialty suppliers and distributors. ASI is planning two
forums for the fall of 2008, both to be held in a resort setting, but
the dates and locations have not yet been named.
Canon acquires European stamping manufacturing show (5/12/2008) Los Angeles-based Stamping Days
has acquired Stamping Days, a biannual exhibition serving the high
precision stamping technology industry in Germany. Canon plans to move
the event from its current location in Pforzheim to Karlsruhe, which
will provide the show with room to expand as well as better access for
attendees.
Expo launched for help desk professionals (5/8/2008) Colorado Springs, CO-based HDI,
a company and membership association for help desk and IT service and
support professionals, is launching the HDI 2008 Service Management
Conference and Expo, Oct. 15-17, 2008, at the InterContinental Hotel in
Miami, FL.

Three textile shows to join forces in 2010 (5/7/2008) The organizers of three textile industry events – ATME-I/MEGATEX, SPESA Expo and Techtextil North America – have agreed to co-locate their events May 18-20, 2010, at the Georgia World Congress Center.

Leadership leaves Pulvermedia (5/6/2008) Pulvermedia
Founder Jeff Pulver and the rest of the Pulvermedia management team,
including President and CEO Jason Chudnofsky and Carl Ford, Vice
President of Content and Community, have all left the company. The
company's financial backer, TICC Capital Corp., has taken over the
company's assets.

Chief Executive of the Washington Convention Center Authority steps down (5/6/2008) Reba Pittman Walker will step down, effective May 30th, as Chief Executive of the Washington Convention Center Authority.
She cited personal reasons for her decision to resign the position she
has held for two and a half years. The authority runs the Walter E.
Washington Convention Center.

Wynn to build new Las Vegas exhibit space (5/2/2008) Stephen Wynn, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Las Vegas-based Wynn Resorts, Limited,
revealed plans to build a more than 1.6 million-square-foot meeting and
convention space on the company's golf course property in Las Vegas.
Plans for the property include adding two new hotels with approximately
2,600 rooms each, expanding the property's room count to 10,000.

Expomedia Events UK launches private label retail expo (5/2/2008) Expomedia Events (EME) UK, a London-based division of Expomedia Group Plc, has launched Private Label UK,
a retail exposition aimed at independent and major retailers,
wholesalers, exporters and distributors. The event will co-locate with
the World Food Market Nov. 26-27, 2008, in London.

HMP Communications Holdings acquires Princeton Media Associates (5/1/2008) Led by industry veteran Paul Mackler, Malvern, PA-based medical education provider HMP Communications Holdings, the parent company of HMP Communications LLC and the North American Center for Continuing Medical Education (NACCME) LLC, has acquired Millstone Township, NJ-based medical media company Princeton Media Associates (PMA) LLC.

Hanley Wood acquires The TFM Show (5/1/2008) Washington, DC-based business-to-business media company Hanley Wood LLC
has acquired The TFM Show, a trade show for senior facility management
executives (held April 22-24 at Navy Pier in Chicago), from Group C Communications Inc., a Tinton Falls, NJ-based media company.

AEM launches Russian construction show (5/1/2008) The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) has launched CONEXPO Russia,
a trade show targeted at construction, forestry and utility industry
professionals. The event will be held Sept. 15-18, 2008, at the Crocus
Expo International Exhibition Center in Moscow.
